Refund policy

Overview

We want you to love every piece you receive from Desi Diva Fashion. Because we carry delicate ethnic wear and handcrafted accessories — many of which are limited-run or made to order. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

Return Window

You have 3 calendar days from the confirmed delivery date (as recorded by the carrier’s tracking information) to request a return. Requests submitted after this window will not be accepted, so please inspect your order promptly upon receipt.


Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • Item must be unworn, unwashed, and unused
  • All original tags must be attached and intact
  • Item must be in its original packaging
  • Receipt or proof of purchase must be provided
  • Return must be requested within 3 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date


Items that do not meet all of the above conditions will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender at their expense.


Non-Returnable Items

The following items are strictly final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances:

  • Jewelry and hair accessories (for hygiene and safety reasons)
  • Custom, stitched, altered, or made-to-measure items (including blouse pieces cut to size, custom embroidery, or any item altered to your measurements)
  • Sale items and items purchased using promotional discount codes
  • Gift cards
  • Any item that has been worn, washed, altered, or shows signs of use

Damaged or Incorrect Items

We thoroughly inspect all orders before dispatch, but if you receive an item that is defective, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of your confirmed delivery date.


To process your claim, you must provide:

  • Your order number
  • A clear photograph of the damage or incorrect item
  • A brief description of the issue


Claims submitted after 48 hours or without supporting photographs may not be accepted. If your claim is approved, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or a refund to your original payment method, at our discretion depending on product availability.

 

Color Variations

We do our best to represent all colors as accurately as possible on our website. However, please be aware that slight color variations between what you see on screen and the actual item are natural and expected, particularly with Indian and South Asian ethnic wear. Variations can occur due to fabric dyes, the handcrafted or hand-dyed nature of certain textiles, photography lighting, and differences in monitor or screen settings. These variations are not considered defects and do not qualify for a return or exchange. If you have questions about a specific color before purchasing, we encourage you to contact us at returns@desidivafashion.com and we’ll do our best to assist.

 

Refunds & Store Credit

Once your return is approved, you must ship the item back to us within 3 calendar days of receiving our approval confirmation, using a tracked shipping service. Please provide your tracking number by emailing returns@desidivafashion.com once your item has been shipped. Returns that are not shipped within this window, or sent without tracking, will be forfeited and no refund or store credit will be issued.

 

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the outcome within 3–5 business days.


Approved Returns (Change of Mind)

For eligible returns that are not the result of our error, refunds will be issued as store credit to your Desi Diva Fashion account. Store credit does not expire and can be used toward any future purchase.


Damaged or Incorrect Items

Where we are responsible for the error, you may choose between a replacement item, store credit, or a refund to your original payment method.


Processing Time

Please allow 5–7 business days for store credit to appear in your account, or 5–10 business days for a refund to appear on your original payment method (processing times vary by bank or card issuer).


Exchanges

We accept size exchanges on eligible clothing items (subject to availability) within the same 3-calendar-day return window. To request an exchange:

  • Email returns@desidivafashion.com with your order number and the size or item you would like instead
  • We will confirm availability and send return instructions
  • Once your original item is received and inspected, your exchange order will be processed
  • Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer


Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If your requested size or item is unavailable, store credit will be issued for the value of the returned item.


Return Shipping

Customer-Initiated Returns

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We require using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit back to us. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.


Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you received a damaged or incorrect item, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you once your claim has been reviewed and approved.


International Orders

We ship to international customers; however, please note the following:

  • International orders are eligible for returns under the same conditions outlined above
  • All return shipping costs for international orders are the responsibility of the customer, including any customs duties or import fees incurred on the returned package
  • Desi Diva Fashion is not responsible for any duties or taxes charged by your country’s customs authority on the original shipment or on returned items
  • We strongly recommend using a fully tracked and insured international courier service for all returns


How to Start a Return

To initiate a return or exchange, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Email returns@desidivafashion.com within 3 calendar days of your confirmed delivery date.
  • Step 2: Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for your return.
  • Step 3: For damaged or incorrect items, attach clear photographs.
  • Step 4: Wait for our confirmation email with return instructions before sending anything back. Once approved, you must ship the item within 3 calendar days of receiving approval. Items returned without prior authorization, or outside the 3-calendar-day window, will not be accepted.
